CoolDog Academy is the place to be for all your dog training needs. We offer private in-home lessons, virtual lessons, reactive dog behavior consultations, AKC evaluations, puppy parent workshops, and more! We service all of Mercer County NJ; Somerset County, NJ; and Newtown, PA. Our expert trainers will work with you to ensure that your furry friend is on the path to success.
Orientation Lesson
Are you new to training with us? Start here! There is lots of conflicting information on the internet that can leave you confused and frustrated with no success. Our trainers open a conversation that answers all your burning questions and help you understand the "why" behind the techniques you will be using. This is a 90 minute 1-on-1 lesson that we encourage the whole family to be involved in! By the end the lesson you be confident and have the knowledge and tools to start your pup's training off on the right paw! You will receive a lesson recap and supporting documents to support training going forward.
In-Home Private Lesson
Our in-home private lessons offer a personalized approach to your dog's training in the comfort of your own home. Our trainers will work with you and your dog to address any training needs you may have. Anything from potty training, pulling on the leash, or excessive barking- we've seen it all. Each lesson is one hour long, and we'll send a recap of the lesson to you, ensuring that progress is made even after we've left! Pro Training
Pro Training is our hands-off, results-driven service where a professional trainer works directly with your dog- no owner participation required. We focus on building clear communication, successful repetitions, and real-world reliability, then transfer those results back to you with simple guidance so you can maintain progress at home.
Reactivity Consultation
(Hybrid- virtual + in-person)
Do you need help with your dog who may be labeled as reactive? This includes aggressive-barking, lunging, growling at people, dogs, woodland creatures, etc. These are dogs who become overly aroused by common events. They become so preoccupied that they are difficult to control and move away from the situation. *This course is offered by Donna & Melinda and starts as a virtual lesson with the opportunity to transfer to in person lessons. Melinda lives with a dog who meets that description and would be very happy to help you and your dog find a place of peace and calm.
Trick Class
(virtual or in-person)
Nothing increases your dogs bond with you than having fun and learning new things! Join a virtual tricks class and do just that! This course is offered by Sheryl who is a certified trick dog instructor through the AKC Trick Dog evaluations and a certified Trick Dog Instructor through the Do More With Your Dog Trick Dog program.
Adventure Walk
Our Adventure Walk is the perfect opportunity for you and your pup to explore the great outdoors. This exclusive experience is by invite only and allows you to join your trainer and other dogs for a fun and interactive walk. It’s a great way to work on loose leash walking and polite dog interactions while enjoying the fresh air. Contact us to see if you qualify for an Adventure Walk invite!
Paws & Pacifiers
Our Paws & Pacifiers lessons are perfect for expecting families with dogs as they prepare for life with baby. Our mission is to foster a safe and joyful transition for growing families by empowering resident dogs with the skills, confidence, and calm they need to welcome the newest family member. *This course is offered by Melinda and is a hybrid course of virtual and in person lessons.
